1/22/2018 0 Comments Finishing TouchesThis week has been one of the most eventful ones that we have had so far. Along it being the last week of the semester, we had the ISM Research Showcase and our original work is due today. In preparation for all of these events, I had to finalize all of the work that I have done since August in addition to continuing to work on my original work.
Working on my original work took the majority of my week. Although I finished the discount cash flow valuation of IBP, I still needed to work on the holistic review of the company to get a full sense of what the company is really like. In my opinion, the holistic review of a company is even more important than the quantitative evaluation. Although a company must pass “the numbers test”, the holistic review distinguishes the good from the great companies. My completed Original Work was on display during the annual Research Showcase, which happened last Wednesday at The Star. The showcase was a huge success, and I got to meet many different professionals as well as ISM students across the district. I was able to explain my background and teach many different people, especially younger students, about what my chosen career is. It was incredibly rewarding to see younger children get excited about their future careers and the opportunities that they will get in high school. Overall, this week was incredibly rewarding because of the things I accomplished on my original work as well as the experience that I had at showcase. Hopefully I will be able to take the experiences and work that I have done this week and apply them throughout the year to create an even more successful final product at Final Presentation Night!
